Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking an individual experienced with pulsed laser systems to support production and development of new laser patterning applications for thin film materials.

Key Responsibilities :

Process / pattern thin film materials using fast pulsed laser systems for R&D and production. Set up and align laser systems for laser material processing. Use test equipment such as optical power meters and heads, oscilloscopes, cameras, and spectrometers to characterize performance and process parameters.

Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform material processing and patterning.
Monitor and improve throughput, quality, yield, and uptime of laser tools. Recommend improvements to design and manufacturing methods to improve process reliability and manufacturability.

Support engineering activities such as materials processing, design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototypes, electro mechanical-optical systems, vision systems, experimental design or specialized test equipment.

Provide general lab support involving upgrades to systems – both software and hardware.

Perform product verification and validation testing and document results.

Support transfer of products to manufacturing; write assembly and test methods and train manufacturing personnel.

Update and maintain documentation of laser processes

Position requirements:

Minimum of AS degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years experience in laser patterning of thin films and materials in an R&D or manufacturing environment. BS degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences is a plus.

Laser patterning / material processing experience required. Basic understanding of laser – material interactions (e.g. ablation, Heat affected zone, effect of spot size, pulse duration on material processing, substrate damage etc.)

Experience working with fast pulsed laser systems, IR/VIS/UV laser systems, frequency doubled lasers, lamp or diode-pumped lasers, nonlinear crystals.

Familiarity with test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrometers, optical power meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and/or specialized test apparatus.

Assembly and laser alignment skills are required.

Experience in defining optical system configuration and selecting components for laser processing systems

Sales Representative Job Duties:

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
  • Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.

The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects and closing sales.


  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Understand customer needs and requirements
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure
  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas
